He loved to learn and explore how things worked. He grew up in a place called Edinburgh, Scotland.As Alexander became older, he met a man named Thomas Watson. They both thought about a wonderful idea. They wanted to create a machine that could let people talk to each other, even from a distance.They worked a lot in their workshop with tools and weird things. They tried many ideas until one day, something really amazing happened!%u201d%u201cThomas, come here! I think I did it!%u201d Alexander called out excitedly.He spoke into a funny-looking device, and on the other end, Thomas heard his voice.%u201cWow! It really works! You made a talking machine!%u201d Thomas said.The talking machine they made was called a %u201ctelephone.%u201d It allowed people to talk, even if they were far apart. This changed how people communicated.
